Job Summary
It is the Mold Makers job to build a mold, portion of a mold, fixtures or perform other specialized function requested by the Tool Room Manager. He has to do his up most to bring his project to the shortest time completion as possible with the best quality attainable.
The Mold Maker has to be able, experienced and demonstrate that he can successfully complete his job.
To device and project a course of action to build a mold or fixture.
Receive Tool drawings and understand the function of the project. Check the drawings for inaccuracies and discuss the process with the Tool Room Manager.
Provide a list of materials to the Tool Room Manager needed to complete the project.
Manufacture the mold per Mold Rite, Inc.’s Standards.
Record and report all changes and deviations to the Tool Room Manager.
Record all time spent on all projects and forward to the Tool Room Manager.
Keep all machinery in good clean condition.
Keep your worktable in clean and uncluttered condition by cleaning and straightening the table work area up at the end of the shift each day.
It is the toolmakers responsibility to make sure the job he performs is correct.
Checking the supplied tool drawings to the part requirements.
Organize the development of the construction process.
Double-check his work.
Interface with other workers assigned to his job.
The toolmaker has to demonstrate during the first three months of employment that he/she is capable of performing the job.
Perform basic mathematical computations necessary for many construction issues.
Have basic knowledge of tool steels, the heat treat process, blueprint reading, computer aided design programs and the use of all standard tool room equipment.
