Visions of Washington, a two location private optometry group, is seeking a full-time optometric assistant / technician for our Seattle location – Magnolia Eye Care. Responsibilities include patient medical history, diagnostic testing (ocular coherence tomography, retinal imaging, visual fields, applanation tonometry etc) scribing for the optometrist, patient education, contact lens insertion / removal and training and maintaining ophthalmic supplies. We are a small, but busy neighborhood eye clinic and optical. As a member of a small team, you must be willing to assist in other departments when needed. We care about our patients and strive to provide a great experience for them.
Normal work schedule will be Tuesday–Saturday. Current office hours: Tues–Fri 9am-6pm, Sat 10am-2pm and closed Sunday/Monday. Typical work schedule will extend slightly before open and after close times.
Although uncommon, you may occasionally be asked to fill in at our other office.

Responsibilities and Duties:
gather patient medical history
conduct medical diagnostic testing
scribe for optometrist
educate patients
assist patients with contact lenses insertion removal and training
explain insurance benefits to patients
communicate with patients, doctors, staff, and administration
clean and maintain equipment and workspace
Qualifications and Skills:
Must have good keyboarding skills
Experience in a health-related field or some education in anatomy / physiology is preferred, but not required.
