NC Programmer 2 are responsible for creating stable and efficient programs, resulting in manufacturing processes that adhere to the company’s machining best practices and support department targets and metrics. These processes may be created using 2D and/or 3D source data.
Employees will learn our ME Programming Processes and Procedures.
Develop new and edit existing machine NC programs using IGES files, CATIA models, printed drawings, or other forms of source data
Operate CNC Machines while setting up running new or revised g-code. Evaluate fixtures, cutting tools, and cutter paths to ensure stability and cycle time expectations.
Develop, document, and accurately model cutter lists using existing inventory. When necessary, propose new technology or special designs if needed as approved by your lead.
Use existing work holding methods while implementing new parts or improving existing ones. Use proven work holding, part orientation, and the sequencing events when coding. Participate in new part planning meetings to ensure common approaches.
Validate and optimize programs prior to release. Use established cutting parameters, existing tool libraries, and approved verification and optimization software.
Maintain strict control of all company confidential and proprietary data (drawings and data files) per internal Quality Assurance procedures by storing data in approved secure file locations and controlling release of data and sketches
Provide daily project planning status and time estimates using defined communication tools
Work with your lead and supervisor to validate expected setup and cycle time
Must regularly maintain good attendance each attendance year.
Maintains a clean and organized work area.
Other related duties as assigned.
Day Shift Schedule
Proficient using PC applications and software, such as: MS Word, MX Excel, MS Project, and Acrobat
Previous Machinist or Programming experience
Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience programming for Lathe Machines
Experience with aerospace product drawings and specifications
Visual/basic excel macro programming
