While in high school, deciding on your long-term career can seem daunting.  Sno-Isle TECH offers the opportunity for high school juniors and seniors to explore many options, from culinary arts, manufacturing, the medical profession and many more.  Students at Sno-Isle TECH can choose from 5 pathways and 22 classes or programs. Some of which include certifications and/or college credits. In addition Sno-Isle TECH has become a popular pool among local partners (employers) from which to hire students while still attending school and post graduation.

Manufacturing Day is a nation-wide celebration held annually on the first Friday in October to introduce students to excellent career opportunities at local companies searching for new employees.

If you’ve ever wanted to spend a day considering manufacturing as a career choice, three local Sno-Isle TECH Industry partners are opening their doors to celebrate Manufacturing Day.  These three local manufacturers are offering tours to students, parents, teachers, and community leaders to give everyone insight to what their future could hold taking the manufacturing and engineering path:

Qualitel and Kaas Tailored have connected with Sno-Isle TECH, not only for MfgDay, but are discussing summer intern opportunities.  SEA-LECT Plastics has been a longtime supporter of Sno-Isle TECH hiring youth apprentices to prepare them for long term careers.  Beyond these local tour options, a complete career exploration program called Edge Factor, is empowering communities with story-driven tools to tackle workforce development, to inspire students, reach parents and bridge relationships.

Outside of the local companies offering tours, these major partners will be participating:

  • AJAC (Aerospace Joint Apprenticeship Committee) – AJAC is already an Edge Factor partner, and will be onsite at SEA-LECT Plastics to increase awareness of registered apprenticeship programs with a pathway to career credentials.
  • Impact Washington will show support by attending tours as special guests at selected tours, as well as sponsor student tours.
  • Workforce Snohomish County will show support by attending tours as special guests at selected tours.

If you’ve ever wanted to see what world-class manufacturing looks like in-person, take advantage of meeting the staff at each of these local manufacturers to celebrate National Manufacturing Day.  Take a tour of each facility and ask questions concerning job opportunities, apprenticeships, and your future in manufacturing.
